Friends in bad relationships

Isn't it disappointing when you have friends who are in a bad relationship and they know it??
I have a friend, who never asked me, but I sensed he needed my support in making the decision of whether or not to beak up with his gf. I never even met her but he was using words like calculating, manipulative, selfish, knows how to climb the corporate ladder, etc. to describe her, none of which were positive.
He on the other hand is one of those super nice guys, laid back and I have no idea why he's never dated until now. So ya, he's in this relationship that he describes as 'it's really good when things are good and really bad when it's bad'
I could feel his cry for help and so in my usual meddling way, I tried to help him get what he wanted - out of the relationship.
Of course easier said than done. I spent countless hours on the phone, got him to admit that it's never going to work in the long run, made him see how unhappy he is and also said to him that the right thing is never the easy thing to do.
I was bad and lost touch with him for a month after he told me 'I think we broke up' and just yesterday I found or that they're still together. At this point, I give up. I feel like I've wasted my time. Nothing had changed, he's just too chicken to leave her for fear of being alone and to hurt someone, who in his mind, is willing to put a lot of time and effort for him.
I've told him to no longer speak to me about his relationship. I don't want to hear it. Disappointed.

A 30 year old kid?

So they say sophistication comes with age, but does it really?

Recently I've been getting some help on my resume from this late 20's white male as I suffer from the Asian female unable to boast about oneself on paper syndrome. So this guy and I meet up at Starbucks one afternoon to work on giving my resume the 'wow' factor.

Some background info: I'm Asian and female - I have been told on countless occasions that I look like I'm still in university and even sometimes high school (those people need to meet some recent high school students - altho, some may actually look older than me...). The guy is in his late 20's, I'm going to guess 27/28, but he looks a lot older than me.

So we meet up and start discussing the direction and story I want to tell in the document. I have the tendency to act as young as I look, so on a casual basis I essentially act like a kid. He on the other hand has this sophistication about him where I could tell he's the type that has serious discussions about big world topics.

At one point, I wrote out a bullet point that had him say my name in a very parental, you're testing my limits, tone. It came out naturally for him but I think it made him feel weird. Well, I know because he said he felt like he's lecturing a kid but then realizing I'm actually at 30 year old woman. Boy did I feel old.
